1. Have a look at a few of the libraries' twitter pages and see how they use Twitter. Create a blog post about your impression of the library Twitters. Don't know what to say? Think about the following questions:
- Do they use it like bulletin board?
- Is there a lot of interaction with other people on Twitter?
- What kind of information do they feed through, incl different formats?
- Is there some entertainment aspect to their tweets?
- What kind of communication style do they exhibit?
- Do you feel their tweets are attractive enough for you to follow the twitter?
2. After all this serious work let's have some fun and practice to tweet. Compose a tweet for your library (of not more than 140 characters) and add to your blogpost as an example of a library tweet. Here are a few ideas:
- An invitation to a library event
- Book/film review
- A 'did you know..?'
- A tip in using our catalogue
- An information literacy tip
- An 'all in a day's work' titbit
- Anything else you would like to share with colleagues/patrons
3. Use your gmail account to email northshorelibraries@gmail.com with a link to your blogpost. Please put Module 2 - Topic 3 in the subject heading.
